Online Desk: More than 700 people have been detained during BNP’s sit-in programmes at the entry points of Dhaka on charges of violence, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said. Those who have no involvement in the violence would be freed from the concerned police stations, he added.
The minister told journalists while replying to queries from them at his office at the Secretariat in Dhaka on Sunday. “We have already detained more than 700 people red handed. Also detained those red handed who wanted to set fire,” he said.
The minister said, “There are CCTV cameras in everywhere now, and we are analyzing those. People are detaining these miscreants. Though they escape the surveillance of police many times but people catch them and hand over to us. We are also detaining them and let not spare any of them.” He said those who are not involved in violence will be freed from the concerned police stations.
However, the home minister was failed to give the information about the number of people sent to court from police stations.
