Online Desk: About media reports that India conveyed its message to the US regarding next general election, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said if India say something about the stability of the region then surely it will benefit this region. He said this while replying to queries from journalists at his office at Foreign Ministry in Dhaka on Sunday.

Terming Indian government as ‘mature,’ the Foreign Minister said, “It is a strong democratic country. They (Indian government) said what they think right. I have nothing to say about it.”

According to reports of Deutsche Welle and Anandabazar Patrika, India has conveyed to the US that the way various steps are being taken by the US to destabilize the Hasina government is not positive for the overall security of India as a neighboring country and South Asia as a whole.

The reports also said India is not happy with the current role of America centering the upcoming elections in Bangladesh and this message has also been conveyed to Washington. About the reports, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said it will be very unfortunate if India takes any step against the will of the people of Bangladesh.

However, Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said India and America have common interest about the geo politics of this region. If India told something to America then they might told it for their own interest, he said.
