Online Desk : Bangladesh team struggled with the bat in their opening Asia Cup against Sri Lanka at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium in Kandy on Thursday. Tigers were bundled out for 164 runs though Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 89 off 122 balls. Towhid Hridoy also struggled for his 41-ball 20. Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat first in their first match of the Asia Cup. Opening batters Mohammad Naim and Tanzid Hasan, who made a debut in the tournament, departed after the completion of the eighth over scoring only 25 runs for team. Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan (c) scored 5 runs in 11 balls while Mushfiqur Rahim managed 13 runs in 22 balls. Matheesha Pathirana took four wickets for 32 runs while Maheesh Theekshana picked up two wickets while giving away just 19 runs. Dhananjaya De Silva, Dasun Shanak, and Dunith Wellalage scalped one wicket each.
