Online Desk: Executive Director of e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) Jahangir Alam Shovon and his technical team has received the ‘Smart Bangladesh Award-23’ for special contribution to agriculture-based digital and innovative technology.
The technical team in the private sector has won the award for developing smart poultry farm management app ‘Smart-Krishak Smart Bangladesh’.
Agricultural technology entrepreneur Mohammad Shaheen led the team.
On October 18, 2023, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed over the award at the Sheikh Russell Day ceremony at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center.
Jahangir Alam Shovon said there is no alternative to adopt technological support in the agricultural sector in a bid to boost agricultural production.
“Our initiative will help the poultry sector to develop smart farms and give the consumer the freedom to choose poultry products digitally and get related information,” he said.
Jahangir Alam Shovon previously won the Digital Bangladesh Award in 2021 for his special contribution in improving the quality of life using information technology and received the E-Commerce Movers Award in 2020 in recognition of his work to keep the supply chain running during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Other team members are—Manu Farms chief technical officer and agriculturist Md. Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Chief Operating Officer Rumana Akhtar and Co-Founder Alif Binte Shaheen. Manu firms is the mother organisation of the smart poultry farm management app “Smart-Krishak Smart Bangladesh”.
