Online Desk: A court in Dhaka on Monday sentenced Badda Police Station Jubo Dal president Jahangir Mollah and 10 others to three years in jail in an arson attack case filed over 11 years ago.

At the same time, the court fined Tk 3,000. In default, they have to suffer three months more in jail. Dhaka’s Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzel Hossain handed down the judgement. It also acquitted 26 other accused from the case charges.

The 10 covicts are Mannan Mollah, Kamruzzaman Swapan, Shayrul, Saiful Islam, Deepak Kumar Das, Shakil Ahmed, Abdur Rahim alias Titu, Babul, Refatul Alam and Jashim Dhali.

According to the case statement, the accused threw brick bats targeting vehicles and torched a bus in the Moddhya Badda on 12 November, 2013, during BNP’s 48 hours hartal.

Following the incident, Badda Police Station SI Rahmat Ali filed the case.
