Online Desk: Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud today said BNP is declaring their programmes through online platforms like the Taliban or the Islamic State (IS).
“In fact, their programme is nothing but attacking the people and burning down public transports and killing people in the name of blockade. Anyone can observe political programmes. But BNP is not observing political programmes,” he said while exchanging views with reporters at his office at Secretariat here.
Dr Hasan said BNP launches attacks on the people and public properties in the name of blockade and they are sparing none. Even, they are attacking ambulances and hospitals like the Israeli forces, he said.
He said, BNP attacked a hospital and burnt down ambulances on October 28. They also attacked a transport of students like the Israeli forces.
The information minister said BNP-Jamaat didn’t tell a single word against the Israeli forces till now though protests against the strikes of Israeli forces in Gaza are going on across the world. The protesters are holding protest rallies in the USA, in London and different cities of Europe, he added.
On the other hand, he said, BNP and Jamaat remained silent against the barbarism of Israeli forces and they are attacking people like the Israeli forces. BNP has now turned into a terrorist organization, said the ruling party leader.
Hasan Mahmud said the government is determined to bring the culprits and terrorists to book. The countrymen will also take step against them and Awami League will stand beside the people, he said.
He said BNP is now busy in spreading rumours from home and abroad. Some people thought that they will create a chaotic situation from abroad, he said, adding step is being taken to take legal actions against them from those countries as per their law.
Replying to a query over a demand of releasing Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the information minister said anyone can seek release of someone. The persons who sought release of Mirza Fakhrul are BNP-minded politicians and they regularly visit BNP’s rally or programmes, he added.
“Where were they when BNP killed a police, attacked journalists and burnt down ambulances?” the minister posed a question.
He said the arrested BNP leaders are the order givers and patrons of violence and there is no question of holding dialogue with them. Legal actions will be taken against them, he added.
Dr Hasan urged the countrymen to take actions against the miscreants and terrorists.
