Story and Screenplay
Director-actress couple Farhan and Tithi have been married for 10 years but have no children. They have to face various criticisms in a conservative patriarchal society. They decide to have children during the pandemic. More complications start to build up around them.
With this plot, Farooki and noted actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha lead the movie’s story.
The story begins with Farhan (played by Farooki) and Tithi (played by Tisha) in love, then their marriage, and the challenges society throws at them.
Something Like a Real Story
Tisha-Farooki couple has focused on their real life while developing the story. Things that are usually overlooked in society are carefully brought up in the story.
The title of the film is taken from the memoirs of the famous Japanese director Akira Kurosawa, a pioneer in world cinema.
Acting Debut of Filmmaker Farooki
Farooki’s cinematic journey began with the rise of the film revolution in 2004 with “Bachelor: The Circle.” Since then, he made his mark in the country and abroad through some remarkable movies, including “Made in Bangladesh” and “Third Person Singular Number.”
While writing the story of “Something Like an Autobiography, he was well aware of the Farhan character. However, there was a lot of hesitancy about acting. After hearing about the role, Redoan Rony, the producer of the film, insisted that Farooki play the role of Farhan. Still, the director’s doubts did not go away. Then his wife Tisha helped him out. The internationally acclaimed filmmaker finally took the leap from behind the camera to the front.
