Online Desk: A total of four people died from dengue in 24 hours till Saturday morning, raising the fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in the country to 1,543 this year.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), some 914 more patients were hospitalised with the viral fever during the period.

A total of 5,186 dengue patients, including 1,307 in the capital, are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.

So far, the DGHS has recorded 2, 99,964 dengue cases and 2, 93,235 recoveries this year.

September has so far been the deadliest month for the dengue outbreak this year with 396 fatalities and 79,598 cases, according to DGHS data.

Meanwhile dengue claimed 281 lives in 2022.
