The Daily Morning Voice Online Desk: The prices of gold have gone up to record high of Tk 93,429 a bhori (11.664 grams) in the local market, Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) said on Saturday. Earlier, the price was Tk 90,746 per bhori. So, the BAJUS has increased the price by Tk 2,683 per bhori. The BAJUS took the decision to price hike of gold in the local bullion market, it said in a press release. The new prices will come into effect from Sunday.
According to the press release, the price of 22-carat gold has been increased to Tk 93,429 a bhori, 21-carat gold to Tk 89,140 per bhori, and 18-carat gold to Tk 76,431 per bhori. The price of traditional gold has been increased to Tk 63,663 per bhori. The price of gold was Tk 90,746 per bhori until Saturday, which was raised from Tk 88,382 per bhori on December 30. BAJUS has also increased the prices of silver.
