Jatiya Party retains Rangpur-3 seat

Online Desk: Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader has won the Rangpur-3 constituency in the 12th parliamentary election securing 81, 861 votes.
His nearest rival candidate Anwara Islam Rani (independent) got 23, 326 votes. However, Anowara Islam Rani is Bangladesh’s first transgender candidate to contest a national election.
Rangpur Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Mobassher Hasan announced the results at his office on Sunday night.
There was no Awami League candidate in this constituency.
