Online Desk: A group of students of Dhaka University on Sunday formed a human-chain condemning the incident of organised rape of a wife captivating her husband at Jahangirnagar University.
They also demanded exemplary punishment of the culprits. The human-chain was formed under the banner of general students at the footstep of Raju sculpture.
DU’s Philosophy department’s student Audity Islam said university is the highest seat of learning which is also a place of a nation’s hopes and aspirations. But, such an incident at a university is very shameful for a nation. The situation now prevails at the universities does not allow students to become human beings. As a result, heinous crime like gangrape is now happening at the highest seat of learning like a university. “It’s a great shame for the country’s students.”
