Online Desk: A fire broke out at Jhilpara slum in Mirpur-12 in the capital on Monday afternoon.
Lima Khanam, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters media cell, said the fire originated from one of the shanties of the slum around 12:57pm.
Eight fire-fighting units are working to bring the fire under their control.
The reason behind the blaze could not be known immediately, the duty officer said.
