The Bangladesh Sugar Refiners Association said they took the decision after taking into account the price of sugar in the international market, the dollar exchange rate as well as the production costs of local refining mills. The association also discussed the matter with the commerce ministry and the Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission before taking the decision, it said in a press release today.
