Online Desk: Renowned band singer Khalid Anwar Saifullah was laid to rest beside the graves of his parents after Zuhr prayers in Gopalganj.
Before the namaz-e-janaza, Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Mohsin Uddin, Khalid’s elder brother Mezba Uddin Hasan, and other organizations paid tribute to the singer.
Lyricist, Composer, and Music Director Prince Mahmud, relatives, neighbours, fans, well-wishers, and members of various local organizations in Gopalganj, along with locals and mosque attendees, participated in his namaz-e-janaza.
Prince Mahmud said: “I have memories with Khalid Bhai. I came to Gopalganj with Khalid Bhai in my childhood. I came today as well, but to bid him a final farewell. The left by Khalid Bhai will not be filled by anyone else.”
Khalid Anwar Saifullah breathed his last on Monday evening due to a heart attack. He was 60.
Khalid is best known for his songs “Shorolotar Protima”, “Himaloy”, “Kono Karonei”, among dozens of other hits during the 90’s and 2000’s.
He was the vocalist of a band called “Chime”. He joined this band in 1983.
Khalid is survived by his wife and son, who live in the USA.
Khalid won the hearts of the audience by singing many popular songs.
Born in Gopalganj, the singer started his journey in the world of music in 1981.
