Online Desk : Ferry movement on the Daulatdia-Paturia route resumed on Tuesday morning after 36 hours’ of suspension to avert any kind of damage due to cyclone ‘Remal’. But launch services are still remained closed on this route. Earlier, ferry and launch services on the Paturia and Daulatdia were suspended at 9pm on Sunday (May 26) due to adverse weather caused by cyclone ‘Remal’. Salahuddin, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Daulatdia Ghat Manager (Commerce), said ferry services were suspended due to the impact of cyclone ‘Remal’. “Ferry services started from 9am on Tuesday after about 36 hours.” Currently, eight ferries are running in this route, he added. “We didn’t get any decision for the operation of launches from the higher authorities. After getting instructions, launch service will start soon,” said Mohammad Shimul Islam, traffic supervisor of BIWTC at Daulatdia Ghat.
