There will never be a resurgence of militancy and fundamentalism in the country, said RAB Director General Md Harun-Ar-Rashid on Monday. “RAB is a now modern, efficient and professional force which has the capacity to tackle any situations. Militants are active on social medias, RAB is also active in virtual world. The fugitive militants have been kept under surveillance.”

The RAB DG said these while talking to reporters after paying tribute to the victims who were killed in the militant attack at Holey Artisan Bakery in the capital’s Gulshan diplomatic zone on this day. When asked about Bangladesh’s success in eliminating terrorism, DG Harun-Ar-Rashid said, “On this day in 2016, there was a militant attack at Holey Artisan Bakery in Gulshan. Two police officers and several foreign nationals were killed. Subsequently, RAB and the police conducted operations at militant hideouts based on intelligence information. RAB and the police were able to destroy many hideouts and many militants were arrested and brought to justice.”
