Online Desk : The results of the third and final phase of admission to class XI have been published on the government website on Friday night. More than12,000 students did not get the a chance for admission to Class XI in any educational institutions and among them, 700 students who received a GPA-5. This year, nearly 1.68 million students passed their Secondary School Certificate exams and 1,82,129 achieved the highest result of GPA-5. There are 2.5 million seats available in colleges for Class XI students. Prof Tapan Kumar Sarkar, chairman of Inter-Education Board Coordinating Committee and chairman of Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, said that according to the admission policy, the application was supposed to be taken in three stages.
Even after these three stages, more than 12, 000 students did not get college allocation, he said, adding that among them about 700 students who got GPA-5 in SSC. He, however, could not say anything clearly about whether the admission notification will be given again.
Tapan Kumar said students do not secure seats because they only apply to the most reputable colleges. The situation would not have happened if they had chosen their colleges while keeping their marks in mind. He said they don’t have a shortage of seats. Meanwhile, classes for Class XI will start on July 30 once admissions are complete.
