Online Desk :  Students marching towards Bangabhaban have been barricaded by the police personnel at Zero Point. But some of the protesters broke those barricades and went ahead towards Bangabhaban. Visiting the spots at 2:10pm on Sunday, there found that a large number of police and the students sit-in near Bangabhaban face to face. A 12-members delegation entered Bangabhaban to submit a memorandum to President Mohammed Shahabuddin regarding their one-point demand after police permitted them. Meanwhile, other students said that they would stay till the delegation came out from Bangabhaban. Earlier, around 1:30pm, law enforcers stopped the students’ procession by erecting barricades at Zero Point.

Water cannon is also ready there to control the situation. Thousands of students started marching towards the Bangabhaban at 12noon after gathering Dhaka University’s Arts Faculty. Students from different public universities and seven colleges under the Dhaka University Affiliation joined the procession. The leaders of ‘quota-reform movement’ announced the march programme on Saturday evening and gave a 24-hour ultimatum to withdraw the case filed against them. Earlier on Friday night, a case was filed over the alleged attack on police at Shahbagh in Dhaka during a blockade by the quota protesters.
