Online Desk : Police arrested another member of the banned militant outfit who escaped from Narsingdi District Jail on July 19. The arrestee Juwel Bhuiyan, 26, is a member of banned militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla team. Narsingdi Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman informed this at a press briefing at his office on Friday morning. He said Detective Branch of police in Narsingdi arrested Juwel from Barua area of Kapasia upazila in Gazipur on Thursday. With the arrest, the total number of recaptured militants rose to four.
The official said that out of the 85 firearms stolen from Narsingdi District Jail, 45 firearms, including 20 Chinese rifles, 15 other rifles, and 10 shotguns, and 1,091 rounds of bullets, have been recovered so far. Earlier, the Counter-Terrorism Unit of the police arrested two female militants from Dhaka, and on Wednesday night RAB arrested another militant named Md Faruk Ahmed, 43, from Narayanganj. Besides, with the assistance of the Bar Association and police, 481 escaped inmates have surrendered to date. In addition, the police have arrested 185 people in connection with 11 separate cases.
