Online Desk : Interim government Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus, convened a meeting on Saturday with representatives from various non-governmental organisations at the state guesthouse Jamuna.
The gathering aimed to streamline and enhance the collaboration between the government and NGOs in addressing the ongoing flood crisis. Discussions centered on coordinating relief efforts and ensuring that resources are effectively distributed to the flood-affected communities.
Notable attendees included Adviser Ali Imam Majumder, SDG Coordinator Lamiya Morshed, economist Dr. Debapriya Bhattacharya, Rasheda K. Chowdhury, ActionAid Bangladesh Chief Farah Kabir, and Brac Executive Director Asif Saleh, among others.
The meeting began at 3:00pm, Chief Adviser’s Deputy Press Secretary Apurba Jhangir told BSS. He said many NGOs are distributing relief goods among the flood victims and are carrying rescue operations in the ongoing devastating floods.
In fact, Apurba said, the chief adviser will discuss with them the issues of addressing the flood situation. About 5 million people in 11 flood-hit districts have been affected by the ongoing unprecedented floods.
