Online Desk : The train service between Dhaka and Chattogram route was resumed on Monday after a three-day disruption due to the flash flood in the country’s southeastern region. Train service from Chattogram and other parts of the country were suspended from August 22 due to the flash flood, which submerged the railway tracks in Fajilpur area of Feni.
Meanwhile, the train service on the Dhaka-Sylhet route began on 24 August following the partial improvement of the flood situation in the area, Nahid Hasan, public relations officer of Bangladesh Railway told the journalist on Monday.
Director General of Bangladesh Railway and its General Manager (east zone) and other divisional officers earlier visited the damaged rail tracks in Fenia area and found the rail line fit for resuming the service on the route.
The down line from Feni towards Chattogram has been made fit for the train movement while it will take some days to make the up line from Chattogram towards Feni suitable for the train operation, said the railway official.
