Online Desk : A Dhaka court has imposed a travel ban on eight former ministers and six former lawmakers of the Awami League government. Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammed Ash-Shams Jaglul Hossain issued the order on Thursday, following an appeal from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). ACC’s public prosecutor Mahmud Hossain Jahangir confirmed the matter.
The former ministers are- former Health Minister Zahid Maleque, former Social Welfare Minister Dr Dipu Moni, former Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, former Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumdar, former Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, former State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumdar, former Minister Shajahan Khan, and former Minister Qamrul Islam.
The court has imposed a travel ban on former lawmakers — Solim Uddin, Mamunur Rashid Kiran, Kujendra Lal Tripura, Kazim Uddin, Nurul Alam Chowdhury, and Ziaur Rahman. The action comes amid the ongoing investigations and legal proceedings related to corruption charges against these individuals.
