Online Desk : Five passengers of an auto rickshaw were killed and another two injured in a head-on collision between a micro bus and a CNG-run auto rickshaw in Sirajganj’s Kamarkhanda upazila on Sunday morning. The accident took place around a quarter to twelve in front of the ACI food factory on the Sirajganj-Nalka regional highway in the upazila. Three of the deceased were identified as CNG driver Rashedul Islam, a resident of Brahmoboira village under Raiganj upazila in the upazila; Nuruzzaman and Tarek, residents of Vatra village under Tarash upazila in the distric.
It was learnt that a Sirajganj-bound microbus, coming from Nalka collided head-on with a Nalka-bound CNG-run auto rickshaw in the area, leaving three people dead on the spot and another four injured. Another two succumbed to their injuries on the way to hospital. Details of the deceased could not be known immediately. Rezaul Karim, officer-in-charge of Kamarkhanda Police Station, confirmed the matter. The injured are undergoing treatment at Sirajganj General Hospital, the OC added.
