Online Desk  :   One person was killed in a clash between two groups over possession of Hemayetpur dredger in Savar. RRB in the Turag River in Hemayetpur area of Savar. The incident took place while occupying the unloaded dredger (dredger certificate no. 10.0005473). According to locals, on September 17, 2024, one person was killed in a shootout and clash between two groups over forcibly occupying the dredger and looting. The victim’s brother filed a murder case with Savar Police Station and dredger owner Farjana Sultana was also accused along with some others of the area.

Locals said Farjana Sultana’s dredger has been staying here for almost two years. After the fall of the Awami League government, there was a fierce fight and firing when two groups came to take possession of the dredger. As a result, one person from one group of occupiers was killed. The owner of the dredger has never been seen here for two years. The plaintiff and the owner of the dredger could not be reached for comment.Locals also said that one person was killed when two groups came to take possession of the dredger. Locals also demanded justice for those who killed him.

Locals believe that the administration will take action after proper investigation. When contacted, the officer-in-charge of Savar Police Station acknowledged the incident and the case and said that appropriate action would be taken.
