Online Desk  :  The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has ordered all banks to freeze the accounts of former Cumilla-6 lawmaker AKM Bahauddin Bahar and his daughter Tahseen Bahar Shuchona, former mayor of Cumilla City Corporation.

The BFIU sent a letter to all banks in this regard on Thursday. Besides, the accounts of Bahar’s wife, Mehrunnesha, his other daughters – Ayman Bahar and Aziza Bahar, and Tahseen Bahar Shuchona’s husband Saiful Alam Roni have also been frozen. The banks have been instructed to submit the details of all accounts associated with them within the next two days.

Meanwhile, according to the wealth statement in his affidavit submitted to the Election Commission before the 5 January national election, former Cumilla-6 lawmaker AKM Bahauddin has tripled his wealth over the last five years.
