Online Desk : The classes and academic activities of Kabi Nazrul Government College will remain suspended on Tuesday. The college authorities announced the suspension through a notification published on its website on Monday (November 25) citing ‘unavoidable reasons’. Earlier, on Sunday the authorities of Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College in Old Dhaka announced closure of the institution for November 25, 26. Meanwhile, at least 20 people were injuries as students from Kabi Nazrul Government College and Government Shahid Suhrawardy College reportedly carried out attack on and vandalized Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College (DMRC) in Jatrabari on Monday.
They called a ‘Mega Monday’ programme against attacks and vandalism on their campuses on Sunday reportedly carried out by DMRC students during their ‘Super Sunday’ event. The clashes erupted centering the death of DMRC student at Dhaka National Medical College Hospital allegedly by wrong treatment. Protesting the death, DMRC had been staging demonstration in front of the medical college, where the students of Kabi Nazrul College and Suhrawardy College attacked them. In retaliation, the students of DMRC also attacked those. Then Demra area turned into battle filed.
