Online Desk : Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Mohammad Abdul Momen has said that he will disclose his source of income and wealth statements within the next seven days to ensure accountability and transparency. “The ACC did not find any proof of the corruption allegations brought against me,” he said taking a fresh vow that from now on, the commission will take measures against those involved in large-scale corruption to prevent them from getting acquittal.
Earlier on Tuesday, the government appointed Momen, who served as senior secretary of the Public Security Division under the home ministry, as chairman of the ACC. At the same time, two others – retired district and sessions judge Mia Muhammad Ali Akbar Azizi and Brig Gen (Retd) Hafiz Ahsan Farid – were appointed as commissioners of the anti-graft watchdog. The newly appointed ACC chairman along with the two commissioners entered the commission’s Segunbagicha headquarters and took their charges formally this afternoon.
Earlier in the day, Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) called upon the newly appointed chairman and commissioners to disclose their income and asset statements to ensure accountability and transparency
