Online Desk  :  BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “There is no conflict between reforms and election; both can proceed simultaneously.” He made this remark after paying tribute at the grave of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman on the occasion of his 89th birth anniversary, in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka, today (Sunday). Mirza Fakhrul said, “The report of the reform commission must be finalized after discussions with the political parties. It is possible to reach out to the people and fulfill their aspirations only through election.”

Calling for an early announcement of the 13th National Parliament elections, he said, “It is impossible to solve all issues within six months. Therefore, an early election announcement is necessary. Over the past 16 years, there has been no effort towards parliamentary democracy, and we must revive that effort.”
