Online Desk  :   A team from the crime scene unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrived at the residence of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Dhanmondi 32, Dhaka. They are reportedly collecting various pieces of evidence, although the exact nature of the evidence remains unknown. The team, consisting of five to six members, reached the location around 9:00 am on Monday and spent a considerable amount of time gathering evidence. Confirming the matter, CID spokesperson and Special Superintendent of Police Jasim Uddin Khan stated, “A team from CID’s crime scene unit visited Dhanmondi 32 this morning. The Crime Scene Unit is a specialised team skilled in collecting evidence related to crimes. They are gathering crime-related evidence from the site. At this moment, we cannot disclose any further details.”

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhanmondi Police Station, Ali Ahmed Masud, stated that some bones have been found at Dhanmondi 32. It is yet to be determined whether the bones belong to a human or some other animal, and for that purpose, the CID crime scene unit has been called in. They are collecting the evidence and will take it for further examination. They will analyse the bones in their lab to determine if they belong to a human or another animal. When asked whether the bones were found at the site of the demolished house in Dhanmondi 32, the OC replied, “I cannot specify the exact location where they were found. However, I can confirm that these bones were discovered at Dhanmondi 32.” Earlier, on Sunday, the Fire Service carried out water removal work in the basement of Sheikh Mujib’s house in Dhanmondi 32, following suspicions about the presence of a secret detention cell. However, the Fire Service found nothing after completing the operation.
