Online Desk : BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that women abusers are getting away in many incidents due to the laxity of administration. He said this at a press conference held at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan in the capital on Friday. Rizvi said, “Crimes like rape are still happening in the country due to the culture of impunity during the Awami League regime in the past 16 years. Due to the administration’s laxity, those involved in various crimes including women abuse are getting away with it, and if these are not brought to justice, the image of the interim government will be tarnished.” Rizvi said BNP has taken various steps to prevent abuse. “BNP has formed district-based legal and health support cells to combat women and child abuse. We demand immediate punishment of the real perpetrators,” he said.
