The Daily Morning Voice Online Desk: After being gone unsold initially, Bangladesh duo Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Das finally got the team in cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) when Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) obtained the service of both of them from the auction, held at Kochi on Friday. Both of the cricketers went sold for their base price– Shakib with INR 1.50 crore while Liton at INR 50 lakh.
Expectation was high on Liton Das after hitting four half-centuries in 19 matches at a staggering strike rate of 140 but no IPL franchisees showed interest to pick in the first call. The same case happened with ace all-rounder Shakib who was also unpicked in the last season. However, the other Bangladeshi players like pacer Taskin Ahmed and Afif Hossian still remained unsold.
