Attempts made 20 times to kill PM: Law Minister

Online Desk: Law Minister Anisul Haq has revealed that as many as 20 attempts were made to kill Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He made the remark while speaking as the chief guest at a function organised in observance of the centenary of Kaitola Jogeshwar High School at Nabinagar in Brahmanbaria on Thursday (April 27, 2023). The minister observed that the conspirators wanted to turn Bangladesh into Pakistan by assassinating Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1975. Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina put the country on a dignified position coming to power after 21 years. Bangladesh is now on a dignified position in the world.

The Law Minister said the conspirators tried to kill Sheikh Hasina 20 times. “Conspiracy is still going on,” he said urging all to remain cautious about the conspirators. Addressing the students, Anisul Huq said, “You will lead the nation in 2041.” At that same time, he advised the teachers to insist students to read the proper history of the War of Liberation. With the school’s managing committee chairman Syed Mohammad Mohsin in the chair, the function was attended by Ebadul Karim Bulbul MP of Brahmanbartia-5 constituency as special guest.

Besides, Brahmanbaria deputry commissioner Shahgir Alam, Police Super Sakhawat Hossain, Kasbga upazila chairman Rashedul Kawsar Bhuiyan Jibon, Nabinagar upazila chairman Monir Hossain, Kasba municipal mayor MG Haqqani, Nabinagar municipal mayor Shib Sankar Das and Akhaura municipal mayor Takjil Khalifa Kajol, mong others, were present. Md Liaqut Ali delivered address of welcome at thge inaugural ceremony. A cultural function was organised at the second phase of the centenary programme.
