Online Desk: The bodies of all the four missing people, including the groom, were recovered today, two days after a trawler carrying a wedding party capsized in Tetulia River in Patuakhali’s Dashmina upazila. Around 7:30am, the bodies of bridegroom Rabbi Hawladar (20) and his mother Selina Begum (40) were recovered in Badnarchar area, 15km south off the spot where the trawler capsized on Friday.

The body of Khadija (8) was found in the same area around 10:00am while Maria Akhter (8), younger sister of bride Sumaiya, at 2:00pm, according to Patuakhali Naval Fire Service Station Officer Md Rejwan. Dasmina Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nafisa Naz Neera said the bodies were handed over to the local lawmaker SM Shahzada around 3:00pm. Later, he handed over the bodies to their families.

Dasmina upazila administration has given Tk 20,000 for each of the deceased family members for burial, she said. Sumaiya, daughter of Humayun Munsi of Char Shahjalal, was married to Rabbi of Rangopaldi village of Dashmina upazila.

The engine-driven trawler carrying the wedding party, sank in the middle of the river during a storm while returning home with bride around 5:00pm on Friday. Soon after the accident, the body of Lipi Begum, mother-in-law of the groom, was recovered from the spot.
