Online Desk: With more few hours remaining until Bangladesh’s three-match ODI series against Ireland begins in Chelmsford, Bangladeshi fans are still unsure about how to catch the Tigers in action. The first ODI will begin at 3.45pm Bangladesh time.
Usually, private TV channels Gazi TV and T Sports telecast the national team’s matches, but they were yet to confirm any broadcasts of the matches against Ireland. It was learned that the two channels would face heavy financial losses if they were to purchase telecasting rights from the official broadcasters.
Meanwhile, BTV normally also has telecasting rights as the state-owned channel, but since no private channels have confirmed that they will telecast the games, chances for the viewers to watch the series on TV are slim.
Earlier, Cricket Ireland released the official list of broadcasters, with Premier Sports set to broadcast the three-match ODI series. Fans in India can stream the games on the Fancode app, while viewers from North America can watch the games on Willow TV.
The good news for Bangladeshi fans is that they can watch the upcoming series on the ICC TV app by registering for free. After the first ODI on May 9, the second will be on May 12 and the third and final game on May 14, all at the same venue.
