Online Desk: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in four separate drives recovered 7.382 kilograms of crystal meth (ice), 2,80,000 pieces Yaba pills and arrested two drug peddlers from the Naf River of Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar district on Wednesday night.
BGB-2 official Lt Col Mohiuddin said acting on secret information, a team of the force conducted drive at zero-point area of the Naf River and signaled a boat to stop for their suspicious movement. Sensing the presence of the BGB men, they attempted to flee from the spot but the team chased them down and arrested the duo red handed along with 7.382 kilograms of crystal meth and 30,000 pieces of Yaba pills.
The arrested were Md Robi Molla, 23, and Md Ayaz, 25, — both hailed from Prampur area under Mangdu Police Station of Buchidang district of Myanmar’s Rakhine state.
Besides, two separate teams of the force conducted raids in Najirpara and Noapara areas of the river and recovered 2,50,000 pieces of Yaba pills while the drug dealers managed to flee from the scenes, he said. A case was filed with Teknaf Police Station against the arrested under Narcotics Control Act, the official added.
