AL men attack BNP office and leader’s house in Netrakona

Online Desk: Leaders and activists of Netrakona district Awami League on Monday attacked BNP office and residence of the latter protesting the alleged threat to kill Prime Minister Sheik Hasina. However, the district unit AL general secretary Shamsur Rahman Liton filed a case in court over the threat in the afternoon.

According to sources, leader and activists of the ruling party, led by its general secretary Liton, brought out a procession from in front of its office in Chuto Bazar of the town. The procession paraded the important streets of the town and ended following a brief rally.

Among others, AL general secretary Liton and professor Bhajon Sarker spoke in the rally. Netrakona BNP convener Dr Anwarul Haque said some leaders and activists of AL broke open the door of the BNP office and brought out the furniture of it, and then set fire.

Later, they also vandalized the residence of BNP’s central committee member Dr. Arifa Jasmine in the town, he added. AL leader Liton said, “Rajshahi district BNP leader shows audacity through his speech. BNP’s attitude becomes clear through his remarks. They again started conspiracy to kill our leader.”
