Online Desk : The Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal-supported panel’s Abir-Hamim-Mayed Parishad has alleged that a vested group is spreading ‘poisonous fumes of hatred’ surrounding the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections. The Chhatra Dal leaders said this at a briefing after filing a complaint with the returning officer at the university’s Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building on Saturday afternoon.
Nahiduzzaman Shipon, the general secretary of JCD in Dhaka University, said, “Since August 5, an organized group has been trying to spread ‘poisonous fumes of hate’ by going against tolerant, democratic approaches and free expression. They have tried to destabilize educational institutions through cyber attacks.”
He said, “False propaganda is being spread at different times by various vested groups in the name of Dhaka University about various political figures including Dhaka University students. We informed the Election Commission that they could not take effective steps to stop the groups named ‘Dhaka University’ to make the elections fair and participatory. We have urged them to keep these groups inactive at least until the elections.”
