For Hasna Akter Sraboni, widely known online as Sraboni Samba, the camera was once simply a childhood fascination. Over time, however, that fascination developed into a professional journey spanning digital content, music videos, dramas and, more recently, entrepreneurship.
Born and raised in Chatkhil, Noakhali, Sraboni began her journey without the resources or industry connections that often accompany a career in entertainment. Her early ambitions were shaped largely by a desire to express herself in front of the camera and connect with an audience.
The opportunity to pursue that ambition came during the 2022 FIFA World Cup. It was then that she decided to start creating videos, initially with simple equipment and limited experience. One of her early videos unexpectedly went viral, bringing her attention from viewers and encouraging her to continue.
“That moment became a turning point in my life. I began receiving love and appreciation from people, and my family also stood beside me. That was when I felt that perhaps this was the path I should follow,” Sraboni says.
At 21, she formally entered the media industry. Her early work involved blogging and TikTok, before she gradually moved into music videos and dramas. Her projects include the music video Tumi Amar Hoia Thaiko, while Lojjaboti Kemne Bojhaye Koto Bhalobashi later gained significant attention, crossing two million views.
She has since worked in more than seven music videos and over four dramas, while continuing to develop her presence as a content creator and influencer.
Yet the trajectory of Sraboni’s career has not remained confined to entertainment.
She has recently taken a step into entrepreneurship as the founder of Samba Elite Beauty Lounge. The venture adds a business dimension to a career that began with social media content and gradually expanded into other areas of the creative industry.
For Sraboni, establishing the beauty lounge represents more than adding another professional title to her profile. It reflects a broader ambition to transform the visibility she has gained online into something more tangible and sustainable.
“Today, I am a content creator, influencer and entrepreneur. As the founder of Samba Elite Beauty Lounge, I have been able to turn one of my dreams into reality,” she says.
Her move into entrepreneurship also mirrors a wider development in Bangladesh’s digital ecosystem. As social media continues to create new pathways into entertainment and personal branding, some creators are increasingly looking beyond content production and exploring independent business ventures.
Sraboni’s career illustrates that transition. The audience she built through digital platforms became a foundation for opportunities in music videos and dramas, while her experience in the public-facing world has now extended into business.
Her personal journey has also evolved alongside her professional life. Through social media, she met her life partner, who is also a content creator. She says their relationship has been grounded in mutual respect and support, with both continuing to encourage each other professionally.
Despite her growing portfolio, Sraboni does not consider her journey complete. She plans to remain active in entertainment while developing her business and taking on projects that offer opportunities for further growth.
“If I get the opportunity to work on good projects, I hope to do much more in the future,” she says.
She also acknowledges the role of her family and audience in helping her sustain the journey. For Sraboni, public support has been an important source of motivation, particularly during the early stages of her career.
“I believe this achievement is not mine alone. It is the result of your love, my hard work and the blessings of Allah,” she says.
Sraboni Samba’s story ultimately reflects a changing route into Bangladesh’s creative economy. What began with a young woman experimenting with videos during a major sporting event has developed into a career that now crosses digital media, entertainment and entrepreneurship.
The next chapter, therefore, is no longer solely about building an audience. With Samba Elite Beauty Lounge and her continuing work in entertainment, Sraboni is attempting to build a professional identity that can exist both on and beyond the screen.
For someone whose journey began with a simple desire to stand in front of a camera, that evolution marks a significant shift—from seeking an audience to building a career around the opportunities that audience made possible.
