Online Desk : The mortal remains of Ahmed Ali, a Bangladeshi expatriate killed in Dubai during the US-Iran conflict, arrived in Dhaka on Monday morning. An Emirates flight carrying his coffin landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8:55 am. State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Nurul Haque Nur and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam were present at the airport along with grieving family members to receive the body.
Speaking to reporters, State Minister Shama Obaed said, “The safety and welfare of Bangladeshi citizens are the government’s highest priority. The government stands firmly with Ahmed Ali’s family and will provide all necessary support.” State Minister Nurul Haque Nur confirmed that 14 other Bangladeshis were injured in the same attack and are receiving the best possible medical care. He urged all Bangladeshi expatriates in the Middle East to strictly avoid high-risk areas for their own safety.
After completion of airport formalities, the body was flown domestically to Moulvibazar in Sylhet. Family members said Ahmed Ali had been living in Ajman, UAE, for many years. He was killed on February 28 when an Iranian missile struck Dubai. He will be laid to rest in the family graveyard in his ancestral village. Bangladesh travel guide
