Following Haas’s departure, the Department of State appointed retired diplomat Tracey Ann Jacobson as the chargé d’affaires in Dhaka. Commenting on the nomination, US foreign policy analyst John Danilovich wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday (September 3) that Brent Christensen is the right person to serve as ambassador during this crucial time for Bangladesh.
