CA Yunus visits Khaleda Zia at Evercare hospital

Online Desk : Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Muhammad Yunus has paid a visit to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at Dhaka’s Evercare Hospital on Wednesday evening to inquire about her health condition. His motorcade entered the hospital premises at 7:07 PM, where he was received by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.Fakhrul accompanied him to the fourth-floor Critical Care Unit, where Khaleda Zia is undergoing treatment under a specially arranged medical board. BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan said the Chief Adviser was joined by the head of the medical board, Prof Shahabuddin Talukder, Prof AZM Zahid Hossain and Syeda Shamila Rahman, the wife of Khaleda Zia’s younger son.
Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital on 23 November following preliminary tests that prompted doctors to keep her under close medical supervision. She has remained hospitalized since then.
On 27 November, as her condition became critical, she was shifted to the Critical Care Unit for intensive treatment.
Her care is being overseen by both local and foreign specialists. A team of experts from the United Kingdom joined her treatment on Wednesday. Several countries, including the United States, China, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and India, have offered medical assistance.
Speaking earlier about the possibility of transferring her abroad, Dr Zahid Hossain said she would only be moved if specialists deem her transferable and the medical board recommends it at the appropriate time.
