Online Desk : Five Bangladeshi youths from Kanaighat upazila of Sylhet were killed in a road accident in Qatar on Sunday. The accident occurred around 10:30 am local time (1:30 pm Bangladesh time) on the Samal Road in Al Shahaniya city. An Indian national was also killed in the incident.
The deceased were identified as residents of Jhingabari Union’s Jibal Ahmed, Mastak Ahmed, and Jubair Ahmed, Majhtaluk village’s Jasim Uddin, and South Banigram Union’s Abdul Qadir. All of them worked together in Qatar.
According to reports, the youths had left their residence together for work when the accident took place. They died on the spot, along with the Indian driver. Kanaighat Police Station Officer-in-Charge Aminul Islam said they had been informed about the deaths of five Bangladeshis in the Al Shahaniya area. He added that the bodies will be repatriated after completing formal procedures, but it is still unclear when they will be brought back to Bangladesh.
