Online Desk  : A group of HSC and equivalent examinees blocked a road in Dhaka’s Uttara on Tuesday, demanding the resignation of Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon over the continuation of examinations amid flooding and alleging that he referred to candidates as “farm chickens.” The protesters took to the road in front of the BNS Centre at about 11:00 am as part of a pre-announced programme, disrupting traffic in the area.

During the demonstration, they chanted slogans including, “One point, one demand — Milon’s resignation,” and, “Who am I, who are you? Farm chicken, farm chicken,” in protest against the minister’s reported remarks. The protesters said holding examinations despite widespread flooding and adverse weather had created severe hardship for candidates, particularly those in flood-affected districts.

They also announced similar protest programmes at Shahbagh, Science Laboratory intersection and Mirpur in the capital, along with road blockades and demonstrations in front of education boards in Rajshahi, Barishal, Cumilla and Chattogram.
