Journalist ‘assaulted’ in Jamalpur by miscreants

Online Desk: A local journalist of online news portal Banglanews24.com was critically injured after being attacked by miscreants in Bakshiganj upazila of Jamalpur on Wednesday night. The incident happened at about 10pm in Pathati area while victim Golam Rabbani Nadim was returning home ending his professional duty. The incident happened at about 10pm in Pathati area while victim Golam Rabbani Nadim was returning home ending his professional duty. Family claimed Nadim was allegedly beat up by the followers of Shadhurpara union parishad chairman.

The journalist’s colleagues said some miscreants attack Nadim in Pathati area on his way to home at night. When Nadim became unconscious, the miscreants fled the scene. He was rescued by the local people and was taken to Bakshiganj Upazila Healt Complex. At 12 midnight, he was shifted to Jamalpur General Hospital.

Nadim was admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital on Thursday morning. Abdullah Al Mamun Rifat, son of Nadim, said, “Chairman Mahmudul Hasan Babu’s followers beat up my father. And at one stage, he became unconscious.”
