Newly elected Member of Parliament for Dhaka-12, Saiful Alam Milon, was present at the event.
Saiful Islam Sujon, General Secretary of the Karwan Bazar Paka Market Aratdar Samiti, said traders purchase lemons from Srimangal at Tk 11 to Tk 12 per piece. After being brought to Karwan Bazar, the lemons are sorted into five categories and sold at varying prices.
”Some lemons are sold for Tk 3–4, while larger, higher-quality lemons are sold for as much as Tk 17. From now on, we will reduce Tk 2 per lemon. That means a lemon previously priced at Tk 17, will now be sold for Tk 15.”
