Metro rail to operate on Eid day

Online Desk: The metro rail will run during the Eid holidays and even on Eid day. MAN Siddique, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd, also said the physical works of MRT Line-5 (northern route) will start in July this year. Construction work will begin with the development of the depot, he said.
During the Eid holidays, from April 20 till the day after Eid, trains will run from 8:00am to 2:00pm at 20-minute intervals, instead of the current 10-minute intervals.
On Eid day, trains will be operated from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, he said. The metro rail has so far carried 13.58 lakh passengers from December 29 last year till yesterday and earned Tk 7.33 crore.
