Senior and experienced lawmakers will share their experiences with the new MPs.
The training is intended to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of both the government and the ruling party in parliament, BNP leaders said. The first session of the 13th National Parliament is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM on March 12, after being convened by President Md Shahabuddin on February 23.
BNP secured 209 seats in the 13th parliamentary elections, with 146 MPs entering parliament for the first time. Party leaders said the workshop would help new lawmakers understand parliamentary procedures and their responsibilities.
During the session, parliamentary experts, academicians and senior MPs will discuss topics such as raising points of order, drafting and reviewing bills, participating in debates, addressing constituency issues, discussing the President’s speech and ensuring MPs’ presence during parliamentary sittings. The two-day workshop is being attended by ministers, state ministers and advisers, with the first day’s morning session focusing on parliamentary responsibilities and procedures.
