Tarique Rahman Says : BNP will use experience to rebuild the country

Online Desk : BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman on Monday said his party aims to help rebuild the country by drawing on its experience in running the government. He made the remarks while addressing an election roadside rally in Banani, Dhaka, on Monday noon. Highlighting the high public expectations surrounding the upcoming election, Tarique Rahman said people across Bangladesh have strong hopes for the BNP. “Keeping those expectations in mind, we have tried to adopt appropriate plans,” he said.
During his speech, he also emphasized the importance of family cards and agricultural cards, saying these initiatives would play a vital role in supporting ordinary citizens. Tarique Rahman said the Banani area holds deep personal significance for him, as both he and his brother were born and grew up there. “Our family and children were also born in this area. As a result, we have deep family, mental and spiritual ties with the people of Banani,” he added.
He noted that former BNP chairperson and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia also spent a significant portion of her life in Banani. “That is why her relationship with the people of this area is not only political, but also built on strong emotional bonds and trust,” he said. Referring again to election-time expectations, Tarique Rahman said, “As a major political party, the people of the country naturally have high expectations of BNP. Taking this into account, BNP has formulated its election manifesto and programs.”
He added that specific programs are currently being implemented at the grassroots level to ensure victory for the party’s electoral symbol, the paddy sheaf, in the February 12 polls. “If BNP forms the government, effective initiatives will be taken to improve the living standards of people from all classes and professions,” he said.
