Tarique Rahman to leave London this evening, BNP ready for grand reception

Online Desk : BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is set to leave London on Wednesday (December 24) evening to return to country after over 17 years in exile. Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-202, carrying him, his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman and daughter Zaima Rahman, will leave London’s Heathrow Airport at 6:15PM local time on Wednesday (12:15AM Bangladesh time). Tarique Rahman is scheduled to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at about 11:55AM on Thursday (December 25) if all goes according to plan.
Meanwhile, the BNP has made extensive preparations to accord Tarique a grand reception upon his arrival.The leaders are aiming to turn his return into a historic event of public participation, with a target of drawing close to five million people. From the airport, Tarique Rahman will go directly to Purbachal. BNP is preparing to give him a memorable reception there. Extensive security measures have been taken surrounding Purbachal.
