Akhtar Ahmed came up with the observation while speaking as the special guest at a journalist training programme at the Electoral Training Institute (ETI) in the capital’s Agargaon on Wednesday marking the 13th parliamentary election.
He said, “The upcoming election and referendum together form a massive undertaking, and one complements the other. Many people have questions about giving only one answer to the four referendum questions. But during discussions in the advisory council, it was said that political parties often present 20 manifesto points, and not everyone agrees on each one. People judge them overall. The referendum should be viewed similarly. Voters will make their decision considering the entire package.”
ETI Director General Mohammad Hasanuzzaman presided over the function while Election Commissioner Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah was also present.
